Welcome to our story!
The Union of Moonstone Midwifery and Coyote Midwifery
In the heart of Southern Oregon, Moonstone Midwifery and Coyote Midwifery have united to create a comprehensive, holistic practice dedicated to supporting families through their reproductive journeys.
Both founded by Ashland locals, Moonstone Midwifery, was created by Jessica "Veege" Ruediger, and has been guiding families in the Rogue Valley since 2013. Caitlin K. Maddigan founded Coyote Midwifery in Portland in 2018, before returning home to serve her beloved Southern Oregon in 2022.
Southern Oregon Midwifery now stands as a testament to our dedication to holistic, personalized care, and to our community. We are thrilled to offer a comprehensive suite of services, including prenatal care, fertility counseling and intrauterine insemination (IUI), postpartum support, and home birth services. Our combined experience and collaborative spirit ensure that each family receives the highest level of care and support.
Our decision to come together was driven by a shared vision and a deep respect for the values and practices each midwife holds dear. By merging our expertise and philosophies, we create a unified approach that honors the traditions of midwifery while embracing the evolving needs of our community.
Together, we continue to nurture and guide families through some of life’s most profound experiences, drawing strength from our shared commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.
Our practice model does something else profound: it takes into account our own needs as providers to share responsibilities, to show up for our own families, and to have occasional time off-call. Southern Oregon Midwifery is a shared-call practice, meaning Caitlin and Veege rotate primary responsibility so that we can be authentic, whole people, just like the families we serve.
